SUPERB LARGE ITALIAN TERRACOTTA GARDEN URN |
| Despite having been highly prized since Victorian times Good Terracotta is extremely hard to find for one simple reason. It does not take kindly to English winters.
This is a particularly nice example, very nicely weathered and in virtually perfect condition, a rare find indeed. This is so well weathered that few people would doubt it to be antique but it is in fact post war C20th hence the price. I would estimate that a C19th example would cost at least double if you could find one and you would not be buying a superior item if you did. This is very heavily potted which accounts for it's survival.
A superb decorative item, you won't see another one as good as this in a hurry.
It is 26" dia. and 15.5" high. |
