19th century Victorian upholstered chair with handworked original tapestry needlework cover, signed by artist.

19th century Victorian upholstered chair on turned legs with original castors. Sprung seat and curved back later upholstered in original handworked needlepoint tapestry covering with velvet backing, signed by artist, Audrey Randall, and dated 1967. The very striking pattern of birds and flowers is beautifully executed to seat and back, and is done on a neutral background, to go with any decorating scheme. A very unusual and comfortable chair, in very good condition.

Antique Victorian Upholstered Howard Armchair ca 1870 This beautiful antique Victorian upholstered armchair attributed to ‘Howard & Sons’ has a shaped buttoned back, swept, buttoned arms and a deep seat. The chair stands on splayed back legs, beautiful turned front legs and white porcelain castors. The chair has been newly upholstered in a neutral open woven fabric with matching piping, the mahogany is a rich / dark mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
