London 1870 superb solid silver gilt afternoon tea cutlery service by famous maker HENRY HOLLAND.  

London 1870 English hallmarked solid silver gilt most unusual afternoon tea cutlery service by very famous spoon maker Henry Holland, comprising three pieces in the original fitted case. The pieces comprise both long and short handled caddy spoons, and a matching pair of sugar nips. With original gilding, the cast elegant pierced and twisted stems are designed with figures to both top and bottom. There is a fine feathered rat tail to the ovoid bowls. Very clear hallmarks. The pieces are contained in the original blue lined velvet case. Weight-75 grams. Sizes-long handled caddy spoon 4.75 inches long by 1.4 inches wide; short handled caddy spoon 4 inches long by 1.25 inches wide; sugar nips 4.75 inches long. A rare set in excellent condition, having had little use in their lifetime.

19thC set of French elegant solid silver hallmarked teaspoons in fitted case.  

19th century French solid silver hallmarked set of 6 delicate teaspoon sized spoons with original pale gilding to bowls, and double struck foliate stems and terminals. Presented in very nice fitted case, with associated silverplate tongs. 5.25 inches long. Spoons weigh 80 grams alone. A lovely, elegant, and unusual set in very good condition.

With registered marks for 1940, a set of 6 aesthetic design English silverplate teaspoons in original fitted case, in mint condition, appearing to never have been used. 5.25 inches long.

Aynsley bone china coffee service with silver spoons  

Aynsley very fine quality cased set of six coffee cans and saucers, and six matching solid English hallmarked silver gilt and enamel coffee spoons hallmarked Birmingham 1961. The china is a crimson, cream and gilt leafed pattern, and is marked number 163. The whole is encased in original blue case, and is in original pristine condition. Retailed by Garrard's, fine maker's, maker to the Queen. A fine complete service of 18 pieces.

Boxed Set Solid Silver Tea/Coffee Spoons & Tongs  

This attractive boxed set of six tea/coffee spoons and matching sugar tongs was manufactured by Josiah Williams in London in 1939. They weigh in total 85 grams, and the length of the spoons is 4.25" (10.7cm), and the tongs measure 3.5" (9.3cm). The spoon handles are in the Hanoverian pattern, with a shell pattern to the base of the bowls of both the spoons and tongs. They are in excellent condition, with no dents or wear to the bowls of the spoons and no damaage or distortion to the tongs. The case measures 6" (15.3cm) wide and 7.5" (19.5cm) long, and is in good condition, with a well fitting lid, and firm clasp, and bears the name of the retailer, the prestigious Powell & Son, Goldsmiths of High Street, Oxford.

William Bateman 1816 Set of Six Teaspoons  

This rare set of six teaspoons was manufactured in London in 1816 by William Bateman, the most collectable silversmith of the prestigious Bateman family. They measure 5" long and weigh 2.4 troy ounces (75gr). There is no thinning or distortion of the bowls or dents, and the hallmarks are clear and legible. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a matching set of teaspoons by this very famous silversmith.

Geo III silver picture back teaspoon  

A Hanovarian pattern silver teaspoon dating from c.1770 (Geo III). Embossed on the back of the bowl with a 'Basketof Flowers'. Mark sterlinglion only. Contemporary initials at the top of the back of the handle 'M-S'. Length 11cms.

18 cent silver scroll back teaspoon  

A particularly crisp and good example of an 18 century Hanovarian pattern silver teaspoon with a rococo scroll embossed on the back of the bowl. Marked as usual with only maker 'RS' in script and sterling lion. These marks and the scroll very clear. Date c.1770. Scriptt initials 'AM' engraved on the back of the handle. Rare Irish early 18 cent curled end teaspoon  

An interest5ing example of a George II silver teaspoon in an unusual pattern. The tapering handle is reeded front and back, and the very end is curled. Marks difficult to decipher because, as is usual at this time, they were individually struck and the stem later reshaped by the silversmith. Maker's mark appears to be 'RK', followed by what is almost certainly the harp for Ireland and an indistinct punch which looks like the simple Hibernia in use 1731-2. Engraved on the back of the bowl with an armorial of an arm holding a dagger surrounded by the words 'PRO DEO ET REGE'. Length of spoon 11.5cm

Hanoverian silver fancy back teaspoon  

An example of a Georgian silver fancy-back teaspoon. In Hanoverian style with plain upturned handle, the back of the bowl embossed with a scroll design. Contemporary initials "EW" engraved at the top of the handle on the reverse, sterling lion asnd traces of the maker's mark. Length 4.25ins (11cms). Date c.1770.

Set 6 silver teaspoons EXETER  

A good set of 6 Victorian silver teaspoons in bead pattern with a provincial hallmark EXETER 1882. No crests or monograms and in excellent condition

Cased set 12 antique silver teaspoons with matching tongs  

A really nice set of 12 silver fiddle pattern teaspoons with matching sugar tongs in original presentation case. Mostlikely a wedding present that was never used, the pieces are all hallmarked for London 1893. The handles are engraved with the initial "B". Length of teaspoons 5.5ins (14cms)

A true set of 6 18th century shell back teaspoons  

A "find" in the form of a so-called "straight" set of 6 sterling silver shell back teaspoons from c.1770. As is quite usual at this period, the clear marks on each are only those of the maker Thomas Evans, and the sterling lion. The egg shaped bowls with their impressed shells are in unusually good condition with very little wear. The handles indicate by their shape that they date from the time when the Old English pattern was superseding the Hanoverian. The top of each is engraved with the contemporary initials "BF"

Set 6 unusual silver teaspoons  

A very unusual and most attractive set of six sterling silver teaspoons. Although clearly hallmarked for Birmingham 1919 on the back of the handle, the top of each terminates in a shield-shaped finial containing, within a decorative border, the image of an elephant standing before a stupa. Beneath is the word "Ceylon". In good condition.
