Antique Brass Drum Head Table Clock. French - Circa 1880.  

Beautiful Early Ormolu and White Marble Portico Clock with Silk Suspension. ~ French - Circa 1860 ~ ~~ Excellent condition ~~ A lovely early Portico clock, particularly early with silk suspension movement. It is white marble with ormolu mounts, finely modelled as floral swags and baskets of fruit and flowers. Pendulum can be seen swinging below the movement mounted in the pediment of the portico, this is also modelled as a basket of flowers. The dial is enamel on copper and is complete with original finely fretted gilt brass hands. Back door is glazed to allow the movement to be seen, the clock would display very well on a table. The French movement is of the highest quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There are some nibbles to the edges of the marble and the marble has discoloured to a pleasant cream colour in places, particularly the urns on top of the clock. There is some very minor wear to the original gilding on the high spots. The dial has some slight chipping around the right hand winding hole. Antique Brass Drum Head Table Clock. ~ French - Circa 1880 ~ ~~ Excellent condition ~~ A beautifully proportioned 'drum head' table clock, made from lacquered brass and of particularly good quality. The movement is fitted in the drum of the case and has a finely decorated brass dial with 12 individually enamelled cartouche letters for the hours. This sits on a splayed and fretted base which allows the pendulum to be glimpsed swinging. To the sides of the case are goddess masks with flowing floral swags to the base and above is an urn of plenty with gothic mask side handles. The modelling of the case is beautiful and is of the highest quality with sharp detail and the lacquered finish is clean, bright and fresh. The back door of the clock is glazed to allow the movement to be seen. The French movement is of the highest quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. Antique French Rococo Boudoir Table Clock ~ Samuel Marti ~ French - Circa 1870 ~ ~~ Excellent condition ~~ Stunning antique French boudoir clock featuring an adorable figure of a cherub playing a harp. The style is Rococo, waisted keyhole shape with acanthus leaf shoulders, 'C' scroll feet and surmounted by a floral finial. It stands on its original integral base. The front, sides and rear of the case are fretted and backed with red velvet and the rear door of the clock is glazed to allow the movement to be seen. The design is beautifully bold and heavily moulded in brass, well chased and finished. It is modelled in the round and so would display very well on a table. Dial is beautiful, heavy brass with delicately patterned centre and an engraved minute ring. Hours are individual enamel cartouche letters. It is complete with its original delicately cut, blued steel hands. The French movement is by Samuel Marti and is of excellent quality, their mark is on the movement backplate along with that of the Paris retailer's mark H&F. It is in clean and fully working condition and is complete with an old replacement pendulum. Antique French Table Clock, Eagle ~ French - Circa 1880 ~ ~~ Excellent condition ~~ A beautiful antique French brass table clock of good size, classical in design, it is square in shape with roundels to the sides. These feature Mithras, the sun-god, who conquers all demons of darkness within a sun burst. A cushion shaped dome top features an eagle poised on a pedestal. Below the dial is a stylised lyre. The dial is enamel on copper with a fretted brass centre. It is complete with the original blued steel hands and bevelled glass bezel. The clock is modelled all round, ideal for displaying on a table. The French movement is of excellent quality and has the clockmakers mark on the movement backplate. Superb Rococo Table Clock Set ~ Cupid by Samuel Marti  

Superb Rococo Table Clock Set ~ Cupid. by Samuel Marti ~ French - Circa 1880 ~ ~~ Excellent condition ~~ A beautiful Rococo clock set of the most stunning quality and condition. It is of typical Rococo shape with bold acanthus leaves, 'C' scrolls and shells. Below the dial is a velvet back fretted panel in front of which is a globe and a set square. To the top of the case is mounted a beautifully depicted figure of cupid about to fire off an arrow. He sits among a bed of flowers. The dial is large and heavy, it is mounted with 12 individual enamel cartouches and a centre plaque signed by the retailer 'A Lemaire, 121 Rue Vieille-Du-Temple, Paris'. The original hands are beautifully hand made from blued steel and the dial covered by thick bevelled convex glass. The sides of the case are fretted and backed with red velvet. The rear of the clock is equally well modelled, the back boor and the panel below are fretted and backed with red velvet. Candelabra are beautifully modelled as acanthus 'c' scrolls with entwined foliage and a floral finial. The French movement is also of the very best quality and is by Samuel Marti who's mark is on the back plate of the movement along with the retailer's. It is a large plate movement with pin-pallet escapement and rack striking. It is in immaculately clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. It is complete with it's original pendulum. The finish of the brass is excellent - bright and clean. There are some minor areas of wear or discoloration. Antique Silvered Brass Gothic Table Clock Set ~ French - Circa 1885 ~ ~~ Excellent condition ~~ A rare Gothic clock set, finely made of brass and selectively silvered to give a stunning effect. Of the highest quality, the set is constructed from many intricately made pieces and has the retailers mark C.CH. on the movement backplate. We think this is the mark of La Maison du C. Ch of Paris who specialised in fine interior decor. Above the dial is a coat of arms featuring 2 lions beside a shield. On top, two griffins stand a side a gothic tower. The clock has fretted front and rear panels featuring mythical creatures which are glazed with the original glass. This allows the specially made silvered pendulum to be seen swinging inside the case. The clock set is modelled all around and so would look great on a table as a centrepiece of a room or on a mantle or side table. Its complete with its original ebonised and gold bases. The back door of the clock has been specially made for the clock, it is silvered and glazed with frosted glass. The dial was specially made for this clock, it is enamel on copper and has a silvered centre with a copper plated backing and is complete with the original finely fretted copper plated brass hands. French movement is unusually small and possibly especially designed for this clock. It is of the highest quality and has pin pallet escapement and rack striking. It has been fully overhauled by our clock maker, runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a coiled gong. The silver plating has worn in several places. One griffin has an old repair to one wing. One arm of one candelabra has been re-attached and the decorative nut is missing. Superb Antique French Table Clock Set by A. D. Mougin. ~ French - Circa 1890 ~ ~~ Excellent condition ~~ A large, stunning and very good quality gilt brass clock set. It is classical in style, modelled as a Greek temple. It has a lotus flower cornice above 2 columns with acanthus capitals. The columns are decorated with floral swags and masks. The 'roof' is surmounted by a Greek Sphinx, with the head and breasts of a woman, body of a dog, tail of a serpent, wings of a bird, paws of a lion. Two mythical creatures circle her pedestal, possibly symbolising containment of the sphinx. The front and sides of the clock are fretted with acanthus leaves, floral swags and masks, this allows the pendulum to be seen swinging from either the side or the front. The back door is glazed which allows the movement to be seen. Also, both the clock and candelabra are modelled in the round. The set will therefore would display very well on a table in the centre of a room as well as to the side of your room. Dial is enamel and copper, delicately decorated with floral and complete with the original fretted gilt brass hands. Above the dial are two mythical creatures and below is a winged angel. Candelabra are large and intricately designed with acanthus leaves and mythical creatures. There are 5 branches giving 6 lights altogether. French movement is by A. D. Mougin, an excellent French maker. It runs for 8 days and strikes half-hourly on a bell. Antique French Red Tortoiseshell Veneer and Ormolu Table Clock by Vincenti ~ French - Circa 1870 ~ ~~ Excellent condition ~~  A Large and impressive table clock, stunning Rococo design and in lovely, ready to display condition. Tortoiseshell veneer has mellowed with age to a lovely antique red and the ormolu mounts are bright and clean. The clock is a classic Louis XV shape with 'C' scrolls forming the four corners, extending down to the feet. the top is surmounted with a two handled urn filled with flowers. The large dial is also ormolu and is mounted with 24 enamel cartouches, it is complete with the original delicately fretted blued steel hands and is covered by convex bevelled glass. Beneath the dial is a window, framed by ormolu swags, in which the sun burst pendulum can be seen swinging. French movement is by Vincenti et Cie, a well renown maker, their mark is on the movement backplate. It runs for 8 days, strikes on a sonorous coiled gong and is in excellent, clean and running condition having been fully cleaned and overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. Condition of the case is very good. The tortoiseshell has mellowed to a beautiful colour. There is some slight and old cracking of the veneer on the top of the case. There are no recent repairs or damage and the veneer looks superb. The ormolu is also in excellent condition with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. The case is finely modelled in brass with elaborate and bold C scrolls, fretted panels lined with velvet and a large naturalistically modelled base. The top of the the clock is surmounted by a cherub holding a horn. The large dial is mounted with 12 individual cartouches on a heavy brass plate and is compete with the original blued steel hands. The French movement is of high quality. It is a large plate movement with rack striking and pin-pallet escapement.
