Rare Early Royal Doulton Sweet Lavender Lady Figure HN 1373 |
| This is a very attractive and colourful early Royal Doulton Figure Sweet Lavender, HN 1373.
Designed by L Harradine and issued in 1930.
Approximately 9 1/4" in height.
In very good overall condition with no chips, cracks or restoration, there is the odd area of gentle crazing, the colours are nice and strong.

19thC Dutch solid silver basket, also with import assay marks for solid English hallmarked silver. |
| 19th century solid silver Dutch hallmarked sweetmeat basket, later imported into England, and therefore also with full English solid silver hallmarks for Chester 1913, a very collectable assay office.
In excellent condition, this basket has a braided handle and base edge, and is embossed with country scenes on both sides. One side shows two women, while the other shows a man and a woman.
Very good quality, and an unusual item.

1920s RÉNAUD PARIS BOXED SWEET PEA SCENT PERFUME BOTTLE |
| A charming, cylinder form, blue striped bottle of "Sweet Pea Ambree" perfume, with a sprinkler top, and brass screw lid. The bottle has the original gold labels and comes in an original silk and plush lined hard box. The spring hinged, green box has swirled decoration and gilt outlining; the name "RÉNAUD PARIS 1817" is printed in green on the silk lining. Condition: rubbing to the labels (wording still legible), light residue in the bottle, light age and use wear; bottle and box undamaged, hinge firm; guaranteed genuine and period - if you have any questions about this item, contact me. | A rare Derby plate, decorated with a botanical study of "Sweet Pea" by William Billingsley, c1795. Pattern number 216. Marked with plant title and factory mark in blue.
A drawing by Billingsley exists showing the design for a comport in this pattern housed in the Castle Howard Collection - the only drawing known by a Derby artist which actually shows the body of the ware (see Twitchett and Murdoch's "Painters and the Derby China Works, page 49)
