DERBY HOYTE COLLECTION SOUP PLATE, c1820 |
| Superb Derby soup plate with striking pattern of fruiting vine in green and gilt, and dating to c1820. Ex Anthony Hoyte Collection and with his collection label to base. Marked with crown, crossed batons, dots and D in red.

Royal Staffordshire Pottery 6 Soup Plates 1895-1910 |
| A set of six Royal Staffordshire Pottery (Thomas Hughes) soup plates in the very pretty 'Cornflower' pattern.
They date from 1895-1910 and are in extremely good condition, with no chips, cracks or damage to the pattern. They measure 10" in diameter, and would enhance any table setting.

VERY RARE DERBY DUKE OF NORTHUMBERLAND SERVICE SOUP PLATE, c1790 |
| An extremely rare Derby soup plate, one of only 23 known to exist - once part of a service made for the Duke of Northumberland, c1790.
The plate is decorated in Sevres style with an oeil-de-perdrix border in pale blue, the "peacock eyes" in white enamel and gilding. Reserved with three oval vignettes, bordered with slightly raised and tooled gilding. The vignettes of pink rose sprays, with further single roses and a bouquet to the centre - the flowers beautifully hand painted and the work of Derby's premier artist, William Billingsley.
The service is documented in Derby literature, and it is known that the soup plates were a later addition to the service and only these are by Billingsley's hand - the earlier pieces decorated by Edward Withers.
At the Sotheby's sale of the Duke's effects in October 1966 only 23 of these soup plates were sold. They are rarely seen outside of major collections or museums.
Measures 10 in diameter and in superb condition, free from damage.
This is a truly fabulous piece - Derby porcelain at its very, very best.

| A Spode soup bowl transfer printed with the pattern 'Lange Lijsen' more generally known as Long Eliza or Jumping Boy.
It dates to c.1825 and is in beautiful condition.
Diameter is 24cm.

'Cowman' Pattern Blue and White Soup Bowl c.1820 |
| A soup bowl transfer printed with the 'Cowman' pattern attributed to Ridgway.
It dates to c.1820 and is 25cm diameter.
There is a small glaze flaw to the shoulder of the bowl and a small (5mm) filled chip to the underside, on footrim. |
