Birmingham 1931/1932 solid silver English hallmarked and enamel table hand mirror and hair brush made by Adie Brothers. Beautifully shaped and enamelled in gold colour over detailed engraving, these two pieces are both practical and decorative. The mirror is glazed with bevelled glass. Size-mirror 11.25 inches long by 4.75 inches wide: brush 9.5 inches long by 3 inches wide. With only a couple of minor flakes to the enamel, these are lovely period pieces in very good condition

London 1914 very unusual solid silver pipe and match stand by very famous makers GOLDSMITHS AND SILVERSMITHS CO.  

London 1914 George V English hallmarked solid silver multiple pipe stand with integral match holder by very famous makers, Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company. This is a very high quality, beautifully made and unusual gift for the pipe smoker, or the collector of novelty silver. It would look lovely as a table or desk accessory. Weighing a heavy 130 grams, it comprises an edged tray standing on ball feet, holding an integral cup for matches, and two shaped scroll footed wire racks meant to hold up to two pipes. (pipe illustrated is one of two Peterson pipes listed for sale separately) Also see listed sterling silver Dunhill pipe tool. Size-5.6 inches long by 3.5 inches wide by 3.75 inches high. An unusual item, by famous makers, in very good condition.

Birmingham 1989 solid silver superb and heavy superior quality engraved card case.  

Birmingham 1989 superior quality solid silver English hallmarked engraved card case weighing a very heavy 110 grams. Beautiful cushion shape. Leaf engraved sides surround alternating bands of striped engraving. There is also a blank cartouche within the design on one side which would be suitable for initials if desired. The hinged lid opens from the top, and closes securely. Lovely for business cards, making a great purchase or gift for a man or a woman. Size-2 7/8 inches wide by 3 7/8 inches long. A superb example in excellent condition.

20th century unusual and striking solid silver and enamel Norwegian large caddy spoon by Magnus Aase.  

20th century large and unusual solid silver and enamel Norwegian caddy spoon by well known maker Magnus Aase of Bergen, Norway. Magnus Aase was active from 1876-1953. This spoon was likely made around WWII. Much silver with enamel was made in the 20th century for export, as there was quite a strong emphasis on enamel. This .925 fineness silver spoon has a striking blue leafy enamel pattern to the stem, a wide bowl, and is in excellent condition. Size-4.5 inches long by 1.75 inches wide bowl. Weight- 40 grams.

Early 20th century large 104 piece American sterling silver flatware or cutlery service for a minimum of 12 people, in original solid mahogany canteen.  

From a family estate, an elegant early 20th century 104 piece excellent quality sterling silver (.925 fineness, the same as English silver) cutlery service for 12 plus people, weighing a very heavy 3215 grams, or greater than 7 lbs! The 18 knives, having silver handles with stainless blades have not been included at all in the weight. The service is contained in the original, restored solid mahogany case with brass plaque and handles. The service is comprised of two similar and compatible patterns, Fairfax by Gorham (60 pieces), and Governor Bradford by International (44 pieces). Both are very well regarded companies. The service consists of 104 pieces comprising: 18 dinner knives with stainless blades (12 dinner size, and 6 place size); 18 dinner forks (12 dinner size and 6 place size); 18 teaspoons; 13 salad forks; 13 butter/cheese knives; 9 soup spoons, 8 ice cream forks (very unusual, expensive, and rare); 6 serving spoons; 1 master butter knife. Size-dinner knives 9.75 inches and 10 inches long; place size knives 8.75 inches long; dinner forks 7.75 inches long; place size forks 7.25 inches long; teaspoons 6 inches and 5.75 inches long; salad forks 6.5 inches long; butter/cheese knives 5.5 inches long; soup spoons 7 inches long by nearly 2 inch wide bowls; ice cream forks 5.5 inches long; serving spoons 8.5 inches long by 1.75 inch wide bowls; master butter knife 6.75 inches long. This service is in very good condition, and comes complete with the original case. It is a beautiful set for your table, and an excellent value, which will provide many years of service.

London 1912 solid silver topped glass spirit flasks in crescent shaped glass, in fitted case by Finnigans of Bond Street.  

London 1912 English hallmarked solid silver topped glass spirit flasks in crescent shaped bottles, mounted in bespoke fitted leather case, by Finnigans of Bond Street. The glass is in perfect condition, and there is some slight bruising to one silver top. The silver tops screw on to the glass flasks, for a tight seal. Size overall in case-5 inches high by 2.75 inches diameter. Flasks alone-4.5 inches high, 2.4 inches wide and 1.1 inches deep. The case bears the retailers marks inside the lid. An unusual pair of cased flasks in very good condition.

London 1909 English hallmarked solid silver set of 6 liquor tots by famous makers Mappin and Webb. Nicely designed thumb rests and pedestal bases, lend classic style. Weight-195 grams. 2.25 inches high, by 2 inches wide including handle. Of heavy weight, excellent quality, and in very good condition, these are both fun and useful.

Birmingham 1912 rare solid silver footed collapsible travelling beaker with original case by GEORGE UNITE, famous and collectable maker.  

Birmingham 1912 rare English hallmarked solid silver footed collapsible travelling beaker including the original silk lined case, which is very unusual to not have been separated from the beaker. Unusually large, this is a six section beaker by the very famous and collectable maker George Unite, and has a banded top, footed base, and the original gilt lining. Used by the well to do gentleman when travelling, this collapses to small size for the pocket. When expanded to full size, it provides a watertight beaker. Weight-125 grams. Size-3.6 inches high by 2.5 inches diameter by 2.6 inches diameter base. Closed-1 inch high. With very clear hallmarks, excellent weight, and in very good condition, this is a rare collectable, with a practical use.

London 1907 solid silver novelty pen wipe in the form of a stickstand, by JOHN COLLARD VICKERY, fine maker.  

London 1907, English hallmarked solid silver novelty pen wipe in the form of a stickstand, by John Collard Vickery, fine maker, and retailer of "fancy goods." He headed a well known firm who made by appointment, goods for many European royal families. The base is inset with bristles, and would also make an excellent hat pin stand. Weight-50 grams. Size 3.75 inches high, by 2 inches wide, by 1.25 inches deep. A rare piece with excellent weight, condition, and quality. It would look lovely on desk or table, or in a collection of novelty silver.

Sheffield 1936 English hallmarked solid silver very large capstan inkwell with reeded borders by Walker and Hall, fine makers. Hinged top contains glass liner, while the base is solid mahogany. Size-6 inches in diameter by 2.5 inches high. A very impressive and stylish piece for a desk, in classic form. With some minor marks to base edge, a beautifully presented impressive inkwell/instand, in very good condition.

Sheffield 1905 Edwardian most unusual pair of solid silver and ivory knife rests in fitted case, made by JAMES DIXON AND SONS, very well known makers.  

Sheffield 1905 Edwardian period most unusual pair of English hallmarked solid silver and ivory knife rests in lovely original fitted case. Made by James Dixon and Sons, a very well known firm who exhibited at the Great Exhibition. Registration marks are also present with the hallmarks. This beautiful and unusual pair of knife rests have a shaped silver six panelled weighted base, topped by a silver ball, with well carved ivory wings extending from each side. Size-3 inches wide by 1.75 inches high. A very elegant undamaged pair of knife rests in excellent condition, and contained in a very good original fitted case. A very unique gift for the collector, and lovely to use at the dining table.

19th century ivory and solid silver complete set of 6 numbered napkin rings in excellent condition. Beautifully engraved silver initial detail to each ring, with engraved number to back 1-6. Ivory is in excellent condition with no cracks and showing beautiful grain. Size-1.75 inches diameter, by 1.25 inches high. Excellent weight, colour and condition, with lovely patina. Rare to find a complete set, without damage.

Sheffield 1922 pair of solid silver unusual fox and maltese cross spoons in original case.  

Sheffield 1922 pair of unusual English hallmarked solid silver spoons made and retailed by F.J. Ross and Sons of Winchester. The stems terminate with a double struck figural fox to one, and a Maltese Cross to the other, over tear drop shaped bowls. In the original fitted case, they are in very good condition. The case has one loose hinge which does not interfere with closure. Weight-45 grams. Size-6 inches long by 1.4 inches wide bowls. A very nice pair of spoons, most suitable for preserves or sauces.

London 1937 very unusual nearly mint condition solid silver trefid end cold meat serving fork and serving spoon by Thomas Bradbury and Sons, and retailed by Gilmer of Bath, in original fitted case.

Extremely thick and heavy gauge of silver, with large clear hallmarks, and retailer stamp to stem sides as well. In nearly mint condition, contained in striking blue gilt embellished original fitted case, lined with silk and black velvet. All pieces appearing to have had little if any use in 71 years! Weight-180 grams. Size-fork 8.25 inches long; spoon 8.5 inches long by 2 inches wide. A lovely, practical and unusual gift, or to use for oneself.
