Set of Six Victorian Hepplewhite Style Dining Chairs ca 1890

Set of Six Victorian Hepplewhite Style Dining Chairs ca 1890 This beautiful antique set of six Victorian Hepplewhite style mahogany dining chairs consists of two carvers and four dining chairs. Each chair has a shaped back with wheat sheaf carving on a splayed carved back splat. The chairs have splayed back legs, tapering front legs with spade feet and H stretcher for added stability. The chairs are upholstered in brown leatherette (slightly shaded), are a warm medium walnut / mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, are in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. A very pleasing set of good quality mahogany Victorian balloon-backs with carved back rail, reeded and turned front legs and serpentine seat front. Upholstered in pale green velvet.

A charming quality set of walnut balloon-backs with carved top and back rails, fluted tapering legs and serpentine fronts. The stuff-over seats have been traditionally re-upholstered in a light gold fabric which should fit in well with any decor.
