Silver Sugar Spoons

Silver preserve or moist sugar spoon  

A large teaspoon-sized spoon with a flattish bowl intended either for preserves, jam or moist (brown) sugar. Front of bowl engraved with a pretty foliate design within a decorative border. Excellent hallmarks on the back of the handle for Sheffield 1913. Length 13.7cms. Condition as new

London 1887 cased set of 12 solid silver gilt spoons with sugar tongs by Aldwinckle and Slater.  

London 1887 wonderful set of 12 solid English hallmarked silver coffee spoons and matching sugar tongs in original very striking fitted case. The spoons and tongs have spiral twist stems with cast apostle terminals to both top and bottom (very unusual), and rat tailed bowls with pale traces of original gilding. Retailed by Taylor and Langford of Bristol, and made by John Aldwinckle and Thomas Slater, of the firm Holland, Aldwinckle and Slater, important makers who also supplied firms such as Elkington, Mappin and Webb, and Hunt and Roskell with their silver wares. Such firms only sold the best silver. Spoon size is approximately 4.5 inches long. Total weight of silver 165 grams. This is a beautiful complete service in original fitted case, in excellent condition.

Unusual Silver Plate Sugar Bowl and Sifter Spoon  

This beautiful silver plate sugar bowl and matching sifter spoon are by the famous silversmiths the Atkin Brothers of Sheffield, and was manufactured pre-1925. The sugar bowl stands on a shallow foot, has a fixed handle and fluted body with gilt interior. The matching sifter spoon also has a gilt bowl. The sugar bowl measures 4.75" (12cm) in diameter, and the height of the body is 2.25" (6cm), the height to the top of the handle is 5" (12.5cm). The spoon measures 4" (10cm) long. Both items are in excellent condition. The base of the sugar bowl is clearly marked HA EA FA and a hand holding a Prince of Wales feathers. The spoon is also marked HA EA FA. What a delightful item for sprinkling sugar over your strawberries or dessert!

Antique silver sugar sifter spoon  

A small sterling silver ladle with a pierced and gilded bowl and a shell embossed on the end of the otherwise plain handle. Intended for sifting sugar over a bowl of soft fruit. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1905. Length 13cms Condition excellent.

Set of 10 silver tea spoons and matching sugar tongs. Beautifully decorated with brightcut engraving. Sheffield. 1918.

Antique Kings husk pattern silver sugar spoon  

Antique silver moist sugar spoon in the beautiful King's husk pattern. Hallmarks illegible, maker's mark for Mary Chawner c.1840. Spoon in good condition, length 5.5ins (14cms)
