Silver Manchester Regiment Spoon

A silver Manchester Regiment spoon, carrying the maker's mark MN & WB for Mappin and Webb and hallmarks for Birmingham 1932. The handle is in the form of crossed rifles, surmounted by a Fleur de Lys, the regimental badge, beneath which is insribed LXIII (for 63rd of foot) and "MANCHESTER REGT" in silver on a blue enamel base. Sheffield 1922 pair of solid silver unusual fox and maltese cross spoons in original case.

Sheffield 1922 pair of unusual English hallmarked solid silver spoons made and retailed by F.J. Ross and Sons of Winchester. The stems terminate with a double struck figural fox to one, and a Maltese Cross to the other, over tear drop shaped bowls. In the original fitted case, they are in very good condition. The case has one loose hinge which does not interfere with closure. Weight-45 grams. Size-6 inches long by 1.4 inches wide bowls. A very nice pair of spoons, most suitable for preserves or sauces.

London 1870 superb solid silver gilt afternoon tea cutlery service by famous maker HENRY HOLLAND.

London 1870 English hallmarked solid silver gilt most unusual afternoon tea cutlery service by very famous spoon maker Henry Holland, comprising three pieces in the original fitted case. The pieces comprise both long and short handled caddy spoons, and a matching pair of sugar nips. With original gilding, the cast elegant pierced and twisted stems are designed with figures to both top and bottom. There is a fine feathered rat tail to the ovoid bowls. Very clear hallmarks. The pieces are contained in the original blue lined velvet case. Weight-75 grams. Sizes-long handled caddy spoon 4.75 inches long by 1.4 inches wide; short handled caddy spoon 4 inches long by 1.25 inches wide; sugar nips 4.75 inches long. A rare set in excellent condition, having had little use in their lifetime.

London 1913 pair of English hallmarked solid silver trefid end stems serving spoons, with large rat tail bowls in original fitted case. By very good makers Jackson and Fullerton. Of excellent quality, with crisp hallmarks, and very defined rat tails, these spoons were made in the 20th century, but in the 17th century style. Presented in original fitted red leather case on striking purple velvet lined interior. Original pale gilding remains in bowl interiors. Weight-95 grams. Size-7.5 inches long by 2 inch wide bowls. A lovely and practical pair to give as a gift or to keep. In excellent condition.

Pair of Georgian Kings pattern silver table spoons

This is a pair of very heavy good quality Georgian silver table spoons hallmarked 1833. They are of the Kings pattern design and are double struck, and shell backs to the bowls. They each have a monogram RV to RV. Condition: Very good. No damage and hardly any wear. No dents in the bowls, which have nice clean sharp edges. London 1808-1813, set of 6 George III period English hallmarked solid silver fiddle pattern dessert spoons with "P" monogram, in very good condition. Size- approximately 7 inches long, and weight 203 grams. Two spoons are very slightly shorter than the rest. A lovely and very useful set of spoons for dessert or soup.

19th century unusual Continental cast solid silver gilt set of 6 coffee spoons with rams head terminals, and lovely oval shell bowls in original green fitted case, having stunning green velvet interior. Interesting family crest to back of terminal of each spoon. These spoons were retailed by S.J. Phillips of Bond Street in London. Size-4.25 inches long. A striking set in very good condition.

SILVER SERVING SPOONS 1794

An Excellent pair of solid silver serving spoons manufactured by top London silversmiths William Eley and William Fearn in 1794, They are in very good condition with no damage or repairs. The spoons measure 8.75" (22 cm) long and weigh 122grams. The hallmarks are crisp and clear on both spoons. This pair of beautiful Georgian spoons would enhance anyone's table or silver collection.

Silver preserve or moist sugar spoon

A large teaspoon-sized spoon with a flattish bowl intended either for preserves, jam or moist (brown) sugar. Front of bowl engraved with a pretty foliate design within a decorative border. Excellent hallmarks on the back of the handle for Sheffield 1913. Length 13.7cms. Condition as new

SILVER CHRISTENING SPOON

This beautiful large solid silver christening spoon was manufactured in Sheffield in 1933. It is made in 17th century dog-nosed style. Spoons of this type are used for christenings because the flat section of the stem allows them to be easily engraved with the child's name and date. The spoon is in excellent condition. It measures 8.25" (21cm) long, and weighs a substantial 60 grams. It has never previously been engraved. The hallmarks are crisp and clear, being: maker's mark AR over D; assay office mark crown for Sheffield; sterling lion passant; date letter q for 1933. Large christening spoons of this shape rarely come onto the market, and this would make a unique gift.

EXETER GEORGIAN SILVER SPOONS

This an interesting collection of Georgian silver spoons, all manufactured and hallmarked in Exeter by well known Exeter silversmiths. They weigh in total 96 grams (3 troy ounces), and the makers are as follows: A pair of bright-cut engraved spoons Exeter 1813 by George Ferris; Spoon Exeter 1823 by Joseph Hicks; Spoon Exeter 1824 by William Goodman; Spoon Exeter 1825 by Joseph Hicks. A total of five spoons.

The terminals are adorned with his portrait, and are encased in the original case. In heavy gauge of silver, the spoons weigh 105 grams. Size-4.75 inches long. Made by very good maker Henry Wilkinson. In excellent condition. A lovely gift for the Churchill afficienado.
