Birmingham 1901 English hallmarked solid silver pin cushion, made by famous makers Holland and Aldwinckle.
Beautifully modelled in coronation chair form, with high pointed back, the chair stands on a base guarded by a lion to each corner. The detail is lovely, with pierced work, and the textured effect of carved wood.
The leather covered cushion is original.
Weighs 35 grams without cushion.
Size-3 inches high by 1.6 inches wide by 1 inch deep.
Very collectable.

An unusual piece of Chester hallmarked silver in the the form of a rectangular pincushion base with a cutout figure of a rabbit sitting on the edge. Hallmarked for Chester 1912, maker's mark Samson Morden & Co. Base 6.5x5.5cms. Condition excellent. NB Image shows the original damaged cover on the pincushion, now replaced with new green velvet
