Silver Mug

Victorian half pint embossed silver cup  

This is a superb very good quality half pint capacity Victorian sterling silver cup, hallmarked 1894, and by the very good makers Wakely and Wheeler. It has a swirl fluted lower half, and the top is deeply and beautifully embossed with a floral design on a chased matt background. It has a lovely beaded harp shaped handle and stands on a circular gadrooned base. It has a lovely gilt interior. There is a small cartouche with the discreet engraved initials EW, I think. There is also a small inscription on the bottom of the base, and hence not visible, saying From RNJ 20.10.57, Condition: Very good. There are no dents splits or repairs. Sheffield 1935 solid silver tankard with woodpecker crest.  

Sheffield 1935 solid English hallmarked silver tankard or mug on stepped pedestal base with interesting crest of woodpecker, by Emile Viner. A heavy tankard at 195 grams, it is 4 inches high by 4.5 inches wide including the handle. Lovely shape and style and in excellent condition. Suitable for a childs gift or for any age.

Sheffield 1895 solid silver childs or Christening mug by MAPPIN AND WEBB.  

Sheffield 1895 solid English hallmarked silver childs or Christening mug by famous makers Mappin and Webb. This Victorian mug has a classic shape, and an interesting family crest. Of good weight, it is in very good condition. Size 3 inches high by 3 inches to widest point.

London 1770 solid silver childs or Christening mug.  

London 1770 solid English hallmarked silver childs or Christening mug in baluster form with leaf capped scroll handle, and foliate and scroll decoration to sides. Extremely clear hallmarks. Made by James Young, and weighs a heavy 100 grams, this mug is in excellent condition, and has great age. Stands 3.25 inches high by 3.25 inches wide including handle.

Antique Silverplated Mugs.  

Matching set of three fine Victorian silverplated beer mugs; 2 x pintsize and one smaller, each engraved with an armorial, motto "Innocent and True." There is also a porcelain plaque of the armorial. Good maker of these type of goods. Nice gift. Sheffield. c1895. Hawksworth, Eyre & Co.

1817 STERLING SILVER CHRISTENING TYPE CUP MUG 110g / 3.8oz  

An elegant silver mug - possibly christening type - with an everted rim, and banded and plain section body on a pedestal base. The mug has a finely engraved anthemion handle, a repousée anthemion band to the upper section, and repousée flute banding to the lower section. Condition: light surface age and use wear; no damage or repairs found - if you have any questions about this item, contact me.
