19th century French silver engraved knife.  

19th century French silver engraved knife, suitable for fish, pate or butter. Very pretty, and in very good condition.

A very attractive Victorian silver / mother-of-pearl fruit knife with floral pattern and the inscription "FRED", made by George Unite and bearing stamp GU and hallmarks for Sheffield 1852. Delicate border to the blade. Original case. Knife closed: 3in/7.5cm Knife open: 5in/13cm Condition : Excellent. Minute ding to top and tip of blade (barely perceptible)

Sheffield 1905 Edwardian most unusual pair of solid silver and ivory knife rests in fitted case, made by JAMES DIXON AND SONS, very well known makers.  

Sheffield 1905 Edwardian period most unusual pair of English hallmarked solid silver and ivory knife rests in lovely original fitted case. Made by James Dixon and Sons, a very well known firm who exhibited at the Great Exhibition. Registration marks are also present with the hallmarks. This beautiful and unusual pair of knife rests have a shaped silver six panelled weighted base, topped by a silver ball, with well carved ivory wings extending from each side. Size-3 inches wide by 1.75 inches high. A very elegant undamaged pair of knife rests in excellent condition, and contained in a very good original fitted case. A very unique gift for the collector, and lovely to use at the dining table.

Pair Victorian silverplated knife rests; in the form of "stiles" on rocky and floral bases these are beautifully cast, quality pieces. Another piece of lovely novelty Victorian silverplate. c1880. Length 8cm. Height 3.5cm.

Sterling silver butter knife  

A medium sized sterling silver butter knife. Good quality and weight, hallmarked for Sheffield 1924, engravedon the front only with a design of leafy scrolls. Length 7.5cms.

Birmingham 1905 stunning solid silver and ivory paper knife by Deakin and Francis, in the Art Nouveau design.  

Birmingham 1905 beautiful English hallmarked Art Nouveau solid silver and ivory paper knife/page turner, made by Deakin and Francis in a very aesthetic style of twisting bands over curved panels surmounted by a stylised shell. Textured sections accent the polished panels. Beautiful grain to the ivory, which is in perfect condition. Size-13 3/8 inches long by 1 3/8 inches wide. Deakin and Francis is a fine well known firm that began in 1786 in Regent Street in London, and still remain family owned today. During this period, early in the 20th century, they made many Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts aesthetic period silver items, which are as popular today as they were 100 years ago. They are most contemporary in style, and go with many periods of decoration. A lovely example of an antique paper knife/page turner in excellent condition, which would beautifully accent any desk or table.

VINTAGE SILVER PEN-KNIFE SHEFFIELD 1926  

A neat silver pen-knife manufactured and hallmarked in Sheffield in 1926 by the silversmith Charles William Fletcher. It has two steel blades each measuring 1.5" in length, and as it is not a lock knife, it is not classed as an illegal weapon. Its overall length is 2.75", and it is in good condition, with both blades opening easily. The hallmarks are clear and legible, and it is engraved with the initials 'C.P.'

19thC Victorian set of ivory handled silverplate butter knife, pickle fork and stilton scoop by famous maker WALKER AND HALL.  

Elegant 19th century Victorian very unusual set of silverplated implements with beautifully carved ivory handles carved with acanthus leaves under turret tops. It comprises a butter knife, stilton scoop and pickle fork, by famous makers Walker and Hall. Superb quality, with fine engraving to the blades and ferules, and fitted into the original silk and velvet lined case. There is no discolouration to the ivory. There is a very fine expected age hairline to the handle of the scoop and the fork, but no instability at all. Sizes-knife 8 inches long, scoop 8 7/8 inches long, fork 7 3/8 inches long. This is a very beautiful and useful set, in very good condition.
