London 1870 superb solid silver gilt afternoon tea cutlery service by famous maker HENRY HOLLAND. |
| London 1870 English hallmarked solid silver gilt most unusual afternoon tea cutlery service by very famous spoon maker Henry Holland, comprising three pieces in the original fitted case.
The pieces comprise both long and short handled caddy spoons, and a matching pair of sugar nips.
With original gilding, the cast elegant pierced and twisted stems are designed with figures to both top and bottom. There is a fine feathered rat tail to the ovoid bowls.
Very clear hallmarks.
The pieces are contained in the original blue lined velvet case.
Weight-75 grams.
Sizes-long handled caddy spoon 4.75 inches long by 1.4 inches wide; short handled caddy spoon 4 inches long by 1.25 inches wide; sugar nips 4.75 inches long.
A rare set in excellent condition, having had little use in their lifetime.

| 19th century unusual Continental cast solid silver gilt set of 6 coffee spoons with rams head terminals, and lovely oval shell bowls in original green fitted case, having stunning green velvet interior.
Interesting family crest to back of terminal of each spoon.
These spoons were retailed by S.J. Phillips of Bond Street in London.

| A fine ruby glass double ended scent bottle, with scrollwork and foliate embossed silver gilt tops and collars. One end has a glass lined, hinged lid with spring loaded fastener, the other a cork lined screw top; both have plain discs for dedication or initial engraving. The ten sided body has straight cut panels with sloped shoulders. 19thC ornate set of 5 solid silver French hallmarked silver gilt tea knives. |
| 19th century (post 1838) set of 5 French 1st standard solid hallmarked silver gilt tea knives, with .950 fine content. This is a higher silver content than English sterling. They are excellent quality, and weigh a full 305 grams. Marked to both blades and handles.
With beautiful shell and leaf pattern to handles, these knives are excellent for cheese, butter, or cake, and would look lovely on any table.
8 inches long.
In very good condition.

London 1887 cased set of 12 solid silver gilt spoons with sugar tongs by Aldwinckle and Slater. |
| London 1887 wonderful set of 12 solid English hallmarked silver coffee spoons and matching sugar tongs in original very striking fitted case.
The spoons and tongs have spiral twist stems with cast apostle terminals to both top and bottom (very unusual), and rat tailed bowls with pale traces of original gilding.
Retailed by Taylor and Langford of Bristol, and made by John Aldwinckle and Thomas Slater, of the firm Holland, Aldwinckle and Slater, important makers who also supplied firms such as Elkington, Mappin and Webb, and Hunt and Roskell with their silver wares. Such firms only sold the best silver.
Spoon size is approximately 4.5 inches long.
Total weight of silver 165 grams.
This is a beautiful complete service in original fitted case, in excellent condition. |

| Pair Victorian silver-gilt dishes; having a pierced border of cherubs among leaf scrolls, these exquisite dishes are of top quality and even marked with the retailer's address. A wonderful and delightfully pretty pair of dishes. Beautifully hand-pierced, as good as they get!

19thC solid silver cased pair gilt berry spoons |
| 19th century cased pair of solid English hallmarked silver matched berry spoons, cased.
The spoons are a pair that were matched and decorated in the 19th century in an unusual repousse pattern of ribbons, leaves and flowers, instead of the usually found fruit.
One spoon is Victorian, 1893, by Aldwinckle and Slater, while the other is Georgian, possibly by Bateman. They are large serving sized spoons, each sized 8.25 inches long by 1.75 inches across the bowl.
In original lovely case retailed by Alexander Bros. of Liverpool.
A lovely set in excellent condition, to use or give as a gift. |

| London 1929, assayed the year of the US stock market crash, a pair of fine quality cut glass scent bottles with English hallmarked silver gilt tops, in fitted original leather case.
The bottles also have original cut glass stoppers.
Size of bottles: 2.75 inches high by 1.5 inches wide. The whole case is 3.5 inches by 3 inches.

| London 1935 English hallmarked solid silver gilt snuff box of superb quality, and interesting provenance.
With the jubillee hallmark, this presentation snuffbox with octagonal shape has outstanding all over engraving in the Georgian style with herringbone and dots encased by foliate bands. Made by Carrington and Co., excellent makers, the lid interior is inscribed "Presented by the Clothworkers Company, May 6, 1935." The weight is 110 grams. Superb craftsmanship, extremely clear hallmarks, and an interesting textile connection.
Size 3.25 inches long.

| Mint condition English hallmarked solid silver gilt and enamel set of 6 coffee spoons in original faux tortoiseshell fan shaped case by maker H. Clifford Davis. Stems are enamelled to both front and back, and bowls are beautifully enamelled with different English landscapes or seascapes, to the reverse. Truly a unique set of spoons in excellent condition and of superb quality.
They appear to never have been used.
A lovely and unique gift, or for the collector of small silver, still having a practical use. |
