SOLID SILVER CRUET SET 1928 |
| This very pretty solid silver pierced cruet set was manufactured in Birmingham by the prestigious silversmith William Suckling Ltd.
It consists of an open oval salt measuring 2.25" wide, an oval mustard pot measuring 3" wide including handle, and a cylindrical pepper measuring 2.75" high, all with blue glass liners, and a salt and a mustard spoon. The pieces are hallmarked for Birmingham and the year dates are for 1928-1929.
All the pieces including the spoons are by the same maker, and are in their original presentation case. They are in excellent condition, with the exception of a tiny flea-bite on the edge of one of the oval glass liners. This is not visible unless the liner is removed. There are no dings, dents or damage to the silver, no damage to the pierced work, and no inscriptions or initials.
This is a very attractive set in its original case, and would make a beautiful gift, or a great addition to snyone's silver collection. |
