Silver Coffee Pots
Large silver coffee pot |
| This is a beautiful large baluster shaped silver coffee pot hallmarked 1916. It is of a very elegant design with ribbed sides and scalloped collar with a domed lid and matching finial. The pot stands on a moulded oval foot. A sign of its quality is the silver handle with ivory thermal inserts. It is of a very good gauge of silver and weighs in at a very nice 20 oz.
Condition: Very good with just one small dent in the top of the handle where the hinged lid has at some time rested a little too heavily on the handle. This is quite commonly seen in old silver coffee pots and teapots. Other than that condition is virtually perfect, with no other dents or nicks or splits and no scratching. The spout is perfect and the hinge of the lid works perfectly, the lid closing perfectly in position. The ivory inserts are perfectly intact, and the pins in position so there is no movement to the handle. The pot sits firmly without a wobble.
The interior of the pot is perfectly clean.
Dimensions: 9” (23 cm) tall, and measuring 9 ¼” (24 cm) from the tip of the spout to the edge of the handle.
Weight: 20 oz (570g)
Capacity: 1 ¾ pints (1 litre)
Maker: Harry Wright Atkin
Hallmark: Sheffield 1916
