Set of 6 Antique Oak Dining Chairs

Offered for sale is this superb quality set of six oak dining chairs consisting of two carver and four single chairs by "James Shoolbred". These are a good quality substantial set of chairs and come complete with makers plate to the underside - " James Shoolbred, Tottenham Court Road, London" , manufacturers of high quality furniture. The chairs have carved back rail with carved vertical slat and barley twist uprights above newly reupholstered drop-in seats on barley twist legs with bun feet. This good set of six oak dining chairs date from about 1910/1920 and have been cleaned, revived and waxed and are in excellent showroom condition with all joints firm and seats newly reupholstered.

Shoolbred Mahogany Twin Pedestal Desk ca 1900 This beautiful Edwardian mahogany twin pedestal desk is stamped by the renown maker JAS Schoolbred & co. The piece has a rectangular moulded top with a central brown faux leather writing insert. The piece has a central mahogany lined drawer above a kneehole and flanked by twin pedestals with four mahogany lined graduating drawers with original brass handles. The sides are reeded and the piece stands on moulded plinths with later castors. The back is polished enabling the piece to be displayed anywhere in a room. The piece splits into three sections for ease of removals, is a rich medium mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good original condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
