Set of Six Edwardian Walnut Hepplewhite Dining Chairs ca 1900 This beautiful set of six Edwardian walnut Hepplewhite dining chairs have shield shaped backs with beautiful carvings. The chairs stand on splayed back legs, have tapering front legs with spade feet, have bow fronts and have recently been upholstered in a neutral fabric. The chairs have a couple of minor old repairs, are a dark walnut colour with a striking grain, good patina, are in very good condition and have been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. Set of six antique walnut balloon back dining chairs

Offered for sale is this exquisite fine quality set of six Victorian walnut dining chairs, the finest type of this model I have seen in over twenty five years. The chairs are a lovely rich mellow walnut colour made from fine quality figured walnut with extensive marquetry and inlay panels. The backs and seat rails are line inlaid with boxwood and ebony edging burr walnut crossbanding. The back has a carved top rail with a round floral marquetry inlay panel repeated on the top corners and centre rail. The top of the legs have a rectangular burr walnut panel outlined in boxwood with turned and tapered supports , the supports have round ebony inlay connected by boxwood stringing. The overstuffed seats have been upholstered in a complementary gold John Lewis fabric. The chairs are in excellent showroom condition having been cleaned revived and polished with all joints firm and the seats reupholstered in a gold John Lewis fabric.
