Set of Six Mahogany Balloon Back Dining Chairs 1860 This beautiful antique set of six mahogany balloon back dining chairs have shaped backs with tulip carved back stretchers. The chairs have splayed back legs, beautifully turned front legs and upholstered seats with matching braid trim. The set has a few old minor repairs, is a rich medium mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. Offered for sale is this good set of six 1920's oak Jacobean style dining chairs consisting of four single chairs and two carvers. The chairs have a carved and shaped back rail with vertical slats and turned supports newly reupholstered drop in seats covered in a neutral cream John Lewis fabric. This good set of six oak dining chairs date from about 1920 and have been cleaned, revived and waxed and are in excellent showroom condition with all joints firm and seats newly reupholstered, there is some evidence of old worm, this has been retreated and does not affect the integrity of the chairs just adding character, mentioned for completeness.

The set of six mahogany dining chairs consisting of four single and two carvers have a shaped back rail line inlaid with boxwood and ebony with a flame mahogany panel with swag carved and fretted centre splat above newly reupholstered drop-in seats covered in a neutral gold John Lewis fabric turned and reeded supports united by stretchers, the front seat rails are also line inlaid with boxwood and ebony with flame mahogany panels. The chairs are in excellent showroom condition having been cleaned, revived and waxed along with the seats reupholstered in a gold John Lewis fabric.
