The chairs have been cleaned, revived and waxed and seats reupholstered in a neutral gold John Lewis fabric and are in excellent showroom condition with all joints firm.

Offered for sale is this good set of four Victorian mahogany balloon back dining chairs. The chairs are a lovely rich brown mahogany colour. The set of four mahogany balloon back chairs have a shaped back rail above a carved and fretted centre rail with newly reupholstered overstuffed seats on carved cabriole supports with scroll feet. The balloon back chairs are in excellent showroom condition having been cleaned, revived and waxed along with the seats reupholstered in a gold John Lewis fabric. Set of 4 Victorian mahogany balloon back dining chairs

Circa 1850/70, a superb set of four Victorian balloon backed dining chairs. Noticeably well defined detailing on these wonderful chairs make them highly desireable. They feature good sized horse hair filled seats, serpentine fronted, with moulded mahogany edge to the overstuff seat sides. The backs a double drape carving with central buckles. The whole rasied on very fine fluted and turned legs which really are a lovely feature in themselves. The beauty of these chairs is that may balloon backs are very delicate and not really suitable for everyday use but these are exceptionally sturdy, all joints having been checked and are now awaiting re-covering, if you are quick you are welcome to choose the material used for the final coat.
