Set of 8 George III Inlaid Mahogany Dining Chairs C1810

A good full set of eight George III period inlaid mahogany dining chairs circa 1810 . It consists of two carvers plus six single chairs in good original condition . They are of the Sheraton design with nice inlaid detail in satinwood and ebony lines to the back rails and front legs . The top rails and mid rails have lovely oval shaped motifs inlaid with fine fiddleback mahogany . The chairs have lovely patination and are of a lovely faded/ pale mahogany . The upholstery work is sound and the stuffover seats are covered in a pale greenish gold velvet . All joints to the chairs are sound and sturdy . Two single chairs have minor restorations to a front leg . Viewing welcome , delivery available .

Set of 10 Antique Mahogany Chippendale Style Dining Chairs

Offered for sale is this good set of ten mahogany Chippendale style dining chairs dating to about 1900 and consisting of eight single and two carver chairs. The chairs have a shaped and carved back rail above a pierced and carved centre splat over newly reupholstered drop-in seats with moulded seat rails above carved cabriole supports with acanthus carved shoulders and ball & claw feet. The chairs are in fact a harlequin set consisting of a set of four single and two carvers along with a matched set of four singles. The only differences are the slightly different shaped carving on the top rail and top of the legs, the rest are identical. The differences would not be noticeable with the chairs around a table. The four singles were part of a set of six including two carvers that will be offered separately but could make up a harlequin set of twelve with four carvers. The chairs are offered in excellent showroom condition with all joints firm and the woodwork cleaned, revived and waxed. The seats have will be newly reupholstered and covered in a neutral gold John Lewis fabric. This good set of chairs date from about 1900 and have shaped and carved shield shaped backs above newly reupholstered overstuffed seats and on square tapered supports with spade feet. The carvers have carved arms.
