A good quality set of eight mahogany dining chairs by John Alexander of Aberdeen. Having original leather drop in seats that are now worn. Strong and sturdy the chair frames are in good condition.

20thC complete set of 8 mahogany Georgian style beautifully crafted dining chairs.

20th century set of 8 vintage Georgian style mahogany dining chairs comprising 2 carvers and 6 singles. One example of each is pictured. Lovely curved and pierced backs over neutral drop in damask upholstered seats, terminating on tapered legs. The carvers have graceful curving arms. The pale to medium colour complements any table, and the quality is superb. Very sturdy, elegant and comfortable seating. Size-37 inches high by 21 inches wide. Carver is 17 inches deep and singles are 16 inches deep. All are 18 inches high from floor to seat. Wonderful value in excellent condition.

The chairs have a couple of old repairs, are a rich dark mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, are in very good condition and have been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. Set of 8 Georgian mahogany dining chairs This wonderful set of 8 Georgian mahogany dining room chairs are simple and elegant in design standing on slender tapering legs with stretcher in between for added strength. They have lovely lattice work to the backs in mahogany with square surrounds. The overstuff seats are at present in cream damask but will be reupholstered prior to delivery, to ensure all the frames have been thoroughly checked for any movement. The carvers are a lovely size and again simple in design. In excellent original condition and a fabulous colour these are getting harder and harder to find. Price £3495 (Ref :D157)
