OAK MULE CHEST |
| A 18th CENTURY (CIRCA 1760) OAK MULE CHEST STANDING ON STRAIGHT LEGS. THIS IS A THREE PANEL CHEST. THE LEFT PANEL DEPICTS CHRIST WALKING WITH THE CROSS, THE CENTER PANEL SHOWS HIM ON THR CROSS, AND THE RIGHT ONE SHOWS THE ASCENSION. THERE ARE CARVINGS TO THE TOP FRONT, SIDES, AND BOTTOM WITH LEAVES, AND THERE ARE CHERUBS TO EACH TOP CORNER. THERE ARE TWO DRAWERS AT THE BOTTOM. THE WHOLE CHEST IS PEGGED AND THE TOP HAS NO HINGES BUT NOTCHED TIMBER.THERE HAS BEEN WORM BUT THIS HAS LONG GONE. THIS IS A SUPERB PIECE OF FURNITURE WITH STACKS OF AGE. VERY REASONABLE TRANSPORT COSTS CAN BE ARRANGED |
Magnificent Charles II Oak Mule Chest Circa 1680 |
| An excellent and very large! Charles II oak mule chest with superb colour and patina. The two plank top encloses the huge storage box which sits over four large half width drawers. Above the drawers the chest is decorated with four geometric moulded panels, the side sections also of panelled construction and the piece standing proudly on stile feet.
A magnificent piece of early English country furniture.

This beautiful Georgian oak mule chest has a rectangular moulded lift up lid with shaped corners and the interior has a candle box. The front has three raised fielded panels above two oak lined drawers with later handles. The piece stands on ogee bracket feet, has panelled sides and back, is of a pegged construction with some old repairs/adjustments and character marks which can only be expected of such an early piece. The piece is a rich dark oak colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.

This beautiful Georgian oak mule chest has a rectangular top with an unusual moulded stepped top. The lid lifts and the interior has an oak lined candle box. The front has three raised moulded fielded panels above two birch lined drawers with moulded edges and brass knobs. The piece has beautiful shaped ogee bracket feet at the front and panelled sides and back. The piece is a rich medium / dark oak colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.

This beautiful Georgian oak coffer / mule chest has a rectangular moulded lift up lid above several raised fielded panels with moulded edges and two faux drawers with later brassware. The sides are panelled and the back and base boards are original (there are traces of old dead worm, but this has been treated as an added precaution). The piece stands on raised feet, is of a pegged construction, is a warm medium oak colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.

The piece stands on raised feet and has panelled back and sides. The top has a ring mark and the base and back boards are constructed from solid oak. The piece is a warm medium oak colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
