19thC needlework sampler |
| Early 19th century undated sampler on linen by Jane Tappern comprising a central house design bordered by trees, with the trees continuing around the sampler edges. Also includes the alphabet, two dogs, and this charming verse:
"Let no mans mind on earthly things be bent. But having food and raiement be content. Sweet is the work my God my king. To praise they name give thanks and sing."
In original glazed gilt appropriately leaf embellished frame, and in good condition with some slight staining to one area as pictured.
10.5 inches wide by 13 inches high.

Georgian dated needlework sampler |
| Wonderful Georgian period needlework sampler on linen, dated 1826 by Deliah How, as a young girl. With Greek key design to edges, embellished with hearts, baskets, flowers, the letters of the alphabet, and this verse:
"When this you see remember me and hear me in your mind. Let all the world say what they will. Speak of me as you find."
What a thought provoking verse, reaching out from 182 years ago.
In very good conditon.
A very charming sampler, mounted in later burr frame and glazed.

| A lovely example of an early 19th century Georgian needlework and watercolour on silk in original hand carved gilt oval frame.
Very unusual and in very good condition. Some slight tears to silk just above cross.
New glass.

Late Victorian Hepplewhite Style Chairs |
| This is an attractive pair of late Victorian solid mahogany chairs in the Hepplewhite style.
The shield shaped backs are well carved with wheatsheaf motifs and scroll carving to the base of the splats.
The chairs have a serpentine fronted drop in seat upholstered in original floral needlepoint over square tapering legs and spade feet joined by an H stretcher.
Good original colour and condition with no breaks or cracks in the legs or frame.
