Vintage stunning mother of pearl inlaid, lacquer and ivory chess set. |
| Vintage lacquered and mother of pearl inlay hinged chess board with ivory playing pieces.
The folding lacquered board is inlaid with mother of pearl squares in the design of birds, boats, landscapes or flowers. There is also mother of pearl line inlay to the border. The board has a moulded edge.
The playing pieces are all carved ivory, and store inside the board when it is folded and latched in the closed position. To play, the board is opened out flat, and is then ready to use.
Size-board is 15 inches square; the king stands 3 inches high, the queen stands 2.5 inches high.
A very lovely complete chess set to use and display, making it both practical and a beautiful and decorative accessory.

In perfect working order, the opera glasses are in very good condition, while the case is a bit worn.
4.25 inches wide by 2.25 inches high.

Contained in the original fitted case, these pieces are in excellent condition, and are also suitable for cheese and butter. |

| Sheffield 1909-1910, very fine set of 24 pieces of solid English hallmarked silver and mother of pearl handled dessert cutlery, with engraved silverplate tines and blades.
In original well crafted wood box with lovely deep velvet interior, and with original key, still in envelope, as when new.
Made by Charles James Allen and Sidney Darwin.
Knife 7.75 inches long, and fork 6.25 inches long.
Useful for dessert, cheese and fruit. A little used antique service for 12 people, in excellent original condition. |

| Circa 1850 French solid rosewood crucifix with profusely inlaid mother of pearl, and with gilt metal body.
Beautiful design of crown and stars to the top three shaped ends, with a vase and grasses to the bottom shaped end, and outlined around the exterior.
The body is beautifully moulded, has a lovely patina, and still retains much of its original gilding.
14.75 inches long by 8 inches wide.
Both an antique religious symbol and a beautifully crafted object, to be appreciated for either a religious or collectable purpose.

| February 1876 (dated by Victorian stamped registration lozenge) exquisite silverplate and mother of pearl childs or Christening set comprised of three pieces of cutlery-a spoon, fork, and mother of pearl handled knife, in original shaped case.
Lovely engraving to knife blade and stems of other two pieces.
Made by very good makers William Hutton and Sons.

| 19th century English Victorian period Japanned (paint layering technique) and beautifully matched mother of pearl inlaid work table on stand having chinoiserie decoration of cockerels, bamboo and flowers. The hinged top reveals a fitted interior for sewing accoutrement or jewellery over a sliding basket with original silk bag, terminating in scroll supports.
The mother of pearl decoration appears on all sides, legs, underside of lid and the fitted interior as well, allowing it to stand in the middle of room if desired.
In original excellent condition. It is unlikely that you will ever see another.

1950s JERUSALEM NEW TESTAMENT w. MOTHER OF PEARL COVERS |
| NEW. A handsome illustrated copy of the New Testament, with carved and foil enhanced mother of pearl covers to the front and back, as well as gilt page edging. The covers are mounted on wood, and the volume has a leather spine with the wording "New Testament" and "Jerusalem" printed in gold. The word "Jerusalem" is also engraved at the bottom of the front mother of pearl cover. Condition: mother of pearl loss to a small strip top left on the back cover; light age and use wear; no tears or paper damage; gilt edging good; spine intact - if you have any questions about this item, contact me.
