Late 19thc French Gilt Mirrors/Pier Glasses

Stunning pair of Late 19th century French gilt trumeau mirrors or pier glasses. This is a very rare and elegant pair of decorative gilt framed French Mirrors/Pier Glasses in good original condition. The frames have a classically inspired crest rail made up of urns flanked by swags of trailing harebells with ornate gadrooned borders and floral rosette paterae at the corners. The frames retain the original gold leaf finish with the gesso moouldings intact. Both mirror plates are bevelled and also in excellent condition. Above the mirrors are 2 panels with coloured engravings after the paintings by Morland. Altogether an attractive and elegant pair of mirrors that would particularly suit the trendy French shabby chic style. Sizes: Height 34 inches and 39 inches to top of urn on crest rail. Width: 11 inches. Height of engraved panels: 12 inches.
