Antique Minton John Currie Lady & Doves Plaque / Charger

This is a very nice quality and superbly decorated Minton Plaque. The piece features a maid seated at the base of a pillar with a fruit basket on her lap, the lady appears to be serving fruit to doves. The plaque has the signature of John Currie. John Currie (1883-1914) joined Mintons in about 1897. His later paintings were exhibited alongside the likes of Mark Gertler, Vanessa Bell and Augustus John. Dating to around 1900. The backstamp reads: MINTONS ENGLAND A very large and impressive piece at approximately 17 1/2" wide by 1 3/4" deep. In very good overall condition, there is some wear to the gold gilding on the outer rim and some general wear to the underside of the rim, there is some crazing commensurate with the age / nature of the piece (this is mainly restricted to the underside of the plaque). The overall condition is excellent. A fine quality piece. Antique Minton Majolica Blue Tit Bird Wilbraham Tray / Dish C1868

This is a superb quality Minton Majolica Wilbraham Dish / Tray modelled as a blue tit seated upon an oak branch with a large single leaf, acorns and branches. Unusual Antique Minton Majolica Dove (Bird) Vase

This is a superb quality Minton Majolica Vase in the form of a Fan Tail Dove. Dating to around the late 1800's / early 1900's. Wonderfully modelled piece with fantastic attention to detail. Approximately 6 1/2" in height and 4 1/2" wide (at the widest point). In lovely condition, there is some wear to the gold gilding commensurate with age and there are a few minute black spots in the glaze (these do not detract and are mentioned for 100% accuracy). NEW. An extremely well painted four tile panel executed on Minton blanks. Worked overglaze in cold painted polychrome enamel, the scene depicts a fishing boat under sail on a choppy sea, the crew handling a heavy net, the waves surging from left to right. A further fishing boat can be seen on the right, a steamship with sail masts on the left. Other shipping is visible on the horizon below an underglaze blue sky filled with puffy clouds. 19thC majolica (likely Minton) unmarked trencher plate with lily pad design.

19th century majolica unmarked lily pad design trencher plate in very good condition, with wear to glaze and one chip to rim under. Although unmarked, this plate is likely to be made by quality maker such as Minton. It is sizeable at 12.25 inches diameter. Large, lovely and decorative.

Minton Inkwell Stand c1860-80

Minton Inkwell Stand, lovely burgandy colour, six cartouches which contain individual handpainted flowers. gilding is worn inplaces and a minor repair to one part of the handle. Marked to base 2 9086 in puce. Further pictures available upon request, please quote reference number G7

Mintons Plate 1912-20

This Mintons plate decorated in the 'deco' style dates from 1912-20, and measures 10.5" in diameter. It is beautifully decorated with a border of turquoise with sprigs and posies of yellow flowers in blue vases. The decoration is pristine and there is no damage to the plate. The backstamp to the revesrse of the plate is the Mintons stamp for 1912 to 1920's. This is a lovely and unusual early 1900's plate from the famous Mintons factory.

c.1885 MAW AESOP'S FABLES TILE DOCTOR & THE DYING MAN

A good black and white example of Maw & Co's "Aesop's Fables" series featuring "The Doctor & the Dying Man". The tile shows a man lying ill in bed, while two doctors discuss his condition. The edges are decorated with a dart leaf and flower head frieze . Condition: small corner nibble top left, top and bottom edge nibbles, restored light losses to the right edge; small amount of surface wear including a tiny glaze bubble on the left doctor's ear, no cracks or hairlines; image definition good; framed ready for hanging. - if you have any questions about this item, contact me. c.1880 MINTON HOLLINS BIRDS & FLOWERS TILE

A splendid dark cream ground tile featuring two birds - one perched, the other in flight - and two sets of wild flowers, stems and leaves. The brown printed motifs are placed within circular frames, and the resulting four panels are divided by quatrefoil pattern stripes. There are additional stylised designs in the four corners of the panels. A Minton porcelain cabinet plate, beautifully hand painted botanical plate with a floral bouquet and floral sprays within a richly gilded border. It dates from circa 1830. Impressed B B on base. Fantastic condition, with no chips, cracks or restoration. It measures 10 1/4 inches in diameter and would enhance any collection of English porcelain.
