| Birmingham 1930 beautifully engraved solid silver match safe of excellent quality.
Vesta cases and match safes are airtight cases made to contain short friction matches and keep them safe and dry. They were made in many materials, and some in precious metals like this one, usually with gilt linings, to protect against corrosion from the match heads. They were widely made and used from 1890-1920. Now, they are very collectable and interesting small antique silver items, used for pills, etc.
Of excellent quality, this match safe has all over hexagonal engraving, a vacant cartouche, and tapered edges. Also includes original matches.
Weight-40 grams.
Size-2.5 inches by 1.75 inches.

| London 1894 Victorian English hallmarked solid silver match safe of large size, and heavy weight.
Vesta cases and match safes are airtight cases made to contain short friction matches and keep them safe and dry. They were made in many materials, and some in precious metals like this one, usually with gilt linings, to protect against corrosion from the match heads. They were widely made and used from 1890-1920. Many had a loop attached, like this one, to attach to an albert chain. Now, they are very collectable and interesting small antique silver items.
Size-2 3/8 inches long by 2 1/8 inches wide, and weighing 50 grams.
Hallmarks are rubbed, and there are some age commensurate minor marks to safe.
Match safes were meant to hold matches, but can now also be used for pills, two photos and the like.

| London 1932 Art Deco period solid English hallmarked silver and enamel case for boxed matches by very famous maker, Aspreys, makers of the finest silver pieces. The pink enamel on concentric engine turned design, is on both sides of the box. Aside from one very hard to see flake to the enamel shown in the second photo, lower left corner, the box is in very good condition.
Size 2 3/8 inches long, by 1.5 inches wide by 7/8 inches high.
A very fine display piece or collectable, and a lovely and very useful piece for holding boxed matches for the fireplace or for lighting candles. |

| A really nice set of 12 silver fiddle pattern teaspoons with matching sugar tongs in original presentation case. Mostlikely a wedding present that was never used, the pieces are all hallmarked for London 1893. The handles are engraved with the initial "B". Length of teaspoons 5.5ins (14cms) |
