Hester Bateman georgian silver table spoon – very clear hallmark |
| This is a silver table spoon hallmarked 1779 and by the great Hester Bateman. It is in the Hanovarian pattern with uplifted terminal. There are initials on the back of the terminal – EDLI.
Condition: Excellent. No dents splits nicks or repairs. The bowl is undented and the bowl edges are sharp and clean. One side of the bowl is very slightly worn, no doubt from stirring pots at some time during its life. The hallmarks, including the makers mark, are clear and sharp.

19thC Dutch solid silver basket, also with import assay marks for solid English hallmarked silver. |
| 19th century solid silver Dutch hallmarked sweetmeat basket, later imported into England, and therefore also with full English solid silver hallmarks for Chester 1913, a very collectable assay office.
In excellent condition, this basket has a braided handle and base edge, and is embossed with country scenes on both sides. One side shows two women, while the other shows a man and a woman.
Very good quality, and an unusual item.
