Set of Six Single George III Mahogany Dining Chairs

The moulded and bowed rectangular backs, with carved foliate decoration to the tops, each have tapered vertical conforming bars either side of a tapered and collared central splat, each decorated with boxwood vertical inlay, all raised on a further horizontal conforming bar below. The bow fronted overstuffed upholstered seats, finished in close nails, are raised on square tapered front legs, united by an ‘H’ stretcher, with a further stretcher between the two back legs for added strength. The whole are of a pleasing honey colour, in good condition and retain a patination. 20½ in. (52 cm.) Wide 19¾ in. (50.5 cm.) Deep at the feet 35 in. (89 cm.) Height of back 19½ in. (49.5 cm.) Set Of 10 Antique Mahogany Dining Chairs Offered for sale is fine quality set of ten late Victorian Hepplewhite style dining chairs in excellent condition and consisting of eight single and two carver chairs. The chairs are a lovely rich brown mahogany colour. The set of tten mahogany Hepplewhite style chairs have a yoke shaped back rail with pierced centre splat above newly reupholstered drop-in seats on square tapered supports. The set of 10 antique mahogany chairs are in excellent showroom condition having been cleaned, revived and waxed along with the seats reupholstered in a neutral cream John Lewis fabric. Harlequin set of 6 (4+2) 19th century mahogany dining chairs in the Hepplewhite taste

A good harlequin set of 19th century Hepplewhite style mahogany dining chairs to include two carvers. The set of three in the foreground of the picture have serpentine fronts. The remaining three chairs are very closely matched. With this style it is relatively easy to further increase the numbers. The drop-in seats are traditionally upholstered in blue velvet.
