| Edwardian Mahogany Bureau Bookcase ca 1900
This beautiful Edwardian mahogany bureau bookcase has a moulded cornice with a deep frieze above two stragal glazed doors with key and working lock. The interior has three adjustable shelves. The lower section has a moulded fall front, quarter veneered centre and walnut banding around the outside edge. The interior has a black faux leather writing insert, central cupboard, pigeon holes, letter racks and four small drawers. The piece has two over three graduating drawers with original swan neck handles, stands on splayed bracket feet and has a shaped apron. This quality piece has banded edges with boxwood and ebony string inlay, original backboards, splits into two sections for ease of removals, is a rich red mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good original condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.

Small and narrow 30” wide Edwardian mahogany Bureau Bookcase decorated with satinwood, boxwood and ebony inlay. The top and base separate and are original to each other. This item is well constructed and has pine back boards and solid oak drawer linings including the bases and comes with the two original adjustable shelves (not shown in the photo) that fit the upper glazed section. Original French polished finish throughout and original handles. All the drawers run smoothly, one door has a slight spring to it but closes flat when locked. In excellent condition with no significant faults.

This beautiful Edwardian flamed mahogany bureau / bookcase has a moulded cornice above a deep frieze, two astragal glazed doors with a key and working lock. The interior has three shelves with gold fabric lining. The lower section has a rectangular moulded fall front with unusual quarter veneer and diamond shaped inlay. The interior is fitted and consists of several pigeon holes and a central drawer with pen holder. The piece has four graduating oak lined drawers with original handles and stands on ogee bracket feet with a shaped apron. The mechanism of the fall front has a minor old repair (not very noticeable). The piece has a striking flamed mahogany with boxwood and ebony string inlay around the edges, splits into two sections for ease of removals, is a rich red mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
