| Victorian Mahogany Breakfront Library Bookcase ca 1870
This beautiful antique Victorian mahogany breakfront library bookcase has a moulded cornice above a deep frieze and three arched glazed panels, the central panel being fixed. The two outer doors have glass knobs, key, working lock, turned corbels and the interior has three fixed shelves. The lower section has a breakfront moulded top above three shaped frieze drawers, a fixed central panel and two outer doors with raised arched panels. The two outer doors have glass knobs, key, working lock and the interior has one fixed shelf. The piece has beautiful turned columns, stands on shaped bracket feet, has original backboards, splits into two sections for ease of removals, is a rich red mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.

This magnificent Victorian mahogany breakfront library bookcase has a moulded cornice above eight glazed cupboard doors with moulded edges, Bramah key escutcheons and working locks. Each glazed interior has three removable replacement shelves with mahogany beading. The lower section has a breakfront top above eight cupboard doors with brass key escutcheons and working locks. Each interior has one removable shelf and the piece stands on a plain breakfront plinth. The sides have been later adjusted and the piece has a few character marks due to age and use. The piece is an unusual, manageable height for a library bookcase, splits into six sections for ease of removals, is a rich red mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
