Japy Freres Large and Stunning Louis XVI Style Brass Clock. ~ French - Circa 1870 ~ ~~ Excellent condition ~~ A very large and finely modelled clock in the style of Louis XVI. It dates from around 1870 and is by the famous maker Japy Freres who's mark is on the movement backplate. It is classically styled, boldly modelled with acanthus leaves, blind fretted front and surmounted by a large urn with masks. It is a particularly well modelled clock, heavy and of high quality, it will require a strong mantle or side table to stand on. The dial is the particularly sort after cream with blue lettering and is complete with hand made blued steel hands. It is covered by thick, convex bevelled glass mounted in a heavy bezel. The French Japy Freres movement is of the highest quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. Antique French Louis XVI Style Clock . ~ French - Circa 1880 ~ ~~ Excellent condition ~~ A very decorative gilded brass clock in the style of Louis XVI. It is modelled as a classical ruin with a swan neck pediment above the dial and Nike, goddess of victory to the sides. The front of the clock has a finely fretted panel which allows the pendulum to be glimpsed, swinging inside the case. Dial is beautifully decorated with a floral swag on a cream enamel background. The French movement is of the highest quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. Stunning Louis XVI Clock Set. ~ French - Circa 1880 ~ ~~ Excellent condition ~~ A superb gilt brass clock set modelled in the style of Louis XVI. It it architectural in shape with stylised pillars, a domed roof and the clock dial mounted beneath an arch. The clock is profusely decorated with floral swags and scrolls. Candelabra are similarly styled with vases supporting 5 light candelabrum. The quality the set is excellent, it is heavily modelled with crisply sharp detail and a very good, clean and bright finish. The dial is solid cast brass mounted with 12 individual enamel cartouches and is compete with the original blued steel hands. The back door is glazed to allow the movement to be seen. The French movement is of the highest quality and is marked on the movement backplate for the Parisian retailer. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum is an old replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Stunning Louis XVI Cartel Clock by A. D. Mougin ~ French - Circa 1890 ~ ~~ Excellent condition ~~ A beautiful antique French cartel wall in the style of Louis XVI. Seated on the top of the case is a charming figure of a cherub holding a dove. The clock is classically designed with velvet lined sound frets to the sides, floral swags, and acanthus leaf finial to the bottom. Both the modelling of the brass and the finish are superb and the clock displays very well. The dial is enamel in copper and is complete with the original fretted brass hands. The French movement is by A. D. Mougin and is of excellent quality. The Mougin mark is on the movement backplate. It has been fully overhauled by our clockmaker who has replaced the missing pendulum. There are some minor areas of wear or discoloration. The dial is in very good condition. We have replaced the velvet backing of the sound frets. Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key.
