George III Mahogany Wardrobe/Linen Press C1780

A good George III period mahogany Wardrobe /Linen Press circa 1780 . Dimensions : Width including cornice = 49"/125cm , Height =74"/188cm , Depth = 23"/59cm . Interior hanging length 39"/100cm . It has a fixed moulded cornice .Below are two cupboard doors on rule joint hinges with working lock and key , the interior space has a brass pole for hangers . The wardrobe sits on a chest of two short over two long cockbeaded drawers providing lots of storage space . These drawers are all oak lined with fine cuban mahogany veneers , brass swan neck handles and brass escutcheons . The colour and condition to the finish are very good , although it has had some small replaced bits of beading and chipped veneer over it's two hundred years of use . All minor faults on this good quality piece of furniture have been considered in terms of our reasonable sale price . Viewing welcome . Delivery available .

Georgian Oak Cross Banded Linen Press ca 1800 This beautiful Georgian oak cross banded linen press has an inverted breakfront moulded cornice above two cupboard doors with mahogany cross band, turned knobs, key and one working lock. Each interior has two fixed shelves and each side has a beautiful turned column. The lower section has two over three graduating cock beaded drawers with turned knobs, key and working locks. The piece stands on four beautiful turned bun feet, splits into two sections for ease of removals, is a golden oak colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good original condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. A Regency mahogany linen press with crossbanding, converted for hanging, with two small drawers over two larger drawers having round brass pull handles. It has a lovely patina with a warm faded colour.

The piece stands on a plain plinth splits into two sections for ease of removals and the backboards are original. The piece is a light golden ash colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good original condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
