| Huge Inlaid Mahogany Library Bookcase ca 1870
This beautiful huge antique inlaid mahogany library bookcase has an inverted breakfront centre and a moulded cornice above a deep frieze and five astragal glazed doors with brass key escutcheon, key and working lock. Each interior has three adjustable shelves. The lower section has an inverted breakfront moulded top above five doors with beautiful inlaid panels and moulded edges, brass key escutcheons, key and working locks. Each interior has one removable shelf and the piece stands on a moulded plinth, has some replacement back boards and magnificent inlaid sections using exotic woods.
This is a rare opportunity to own such a magnificent bookcase of unusually good sized proportions.
The piece splits into nine sections, is a rich medium mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
