Set of Six Victorian Hepplewhite Style Dining Chairs ca 1890 This beautiful antique set of six Victorian Hepplewhite style mahogany dining chairs consists of two carvers and four dining chairs. Each chair has a shaped back with wheat sheaf carving on a splayed carved back splat. The chairs have splayed back legs, tapering front legs with spade feet and H stretcher for added stability. The chairs are upholstered in brown leatherette (slightly shaded), are a warm medium walnut / mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, are in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. The chairs have shield shaped backs with beautiful splayed back splats, bow fronts, splayed back legs, tapering front legs and H stretchers for added stability. The chairs have a few old repairs due to age and use, are upholstered cream/oatmeal fabric, are a rich red mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, are in very good condition and have been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
