Circa 1905 SET OF EIGHT Edwardian period inlaid mahogany and satinwood dining chairs.

Circa 1905 elegant and unusual set of 8 original English Edwardian period inlaid dining chairs, crafted in mahogany with satinwood banding, and gorgeous central inlay. The set is comprised of 2 carvers and 6 single chairs. One of the carvers, suitable for the lady of the house, was made slightly smaller than the other. The slightly larger one is more suited for a man. The top rails are curved and banded with satinwood, while the centre slats are inlaid with a beautiful vase and scroll design. There is additional boxwood stringing throughout, accenting the legs, stretchers and back and side rails. The carvers have comfortable curving arms. The seats are covered with a complementary neutral tapestry fabric. The legs are square and tapering, and united by stretchers. A truly elegant, unique, and high quality set of 8 chairs at an excellent price, in very good condition, and with excellent colour. They are very complementary to the windout dining table also listed on my site, stock number 5191, in colour and style, making a stunning set. However, their design would also complement many tables. Sizes:single chairs-36.75 inches high (back) by 17.25 inches wide by 18.5 inches high (seat); smaller carver-37.75 inches high (back) by 18 3/8 inches wide by 18.5 inches high (seat); larger carver-39.25 inches high (back) by 19.5 inches wide by 18.5 inches high (seat). The back having been reupholstered front and back in a gold damask with co-ordinating gold braid. The gently curving arms having attractive mahogany slats of curved form. Set of 8 George III Inlaid Mahogany Dining Chairs C1810

A good full set of eight George III period inlaid mahogany dining chairs circa 1810 . It consists of two carvers plus six single chairs in good original condition . They are of the Sheraton design with nice inlaid detail in satinwood and ebony lines to the back rails and front legs . The top rails and mid rails have lovely oval shaped motifs inlaid with fine fiddleback mahogany . The chairs have lovely patination and are of a lovely faded/ pale mahogany . The upholstery work is sound and the stuffover seats are covered in a pale greenish gold velvet . All joints to the chairs are sound and sturdy . Two single chairs have minor restorations to a front leg . Viewing welcome , delivery available .
