A stunning antique French cartel wall clock, resplendent in its original gilding which is bright and clean. It features a lions mask above the dial and an urn with flaming finial. To the side of the dial are goddess and entwined foliage.
The dial is cream enamel on copper and is complete with original blued steel hands. Glass is bevelled and convex.
The French movement is of high quality and in excellent working order having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. Duration of the movement is 8 days between winding and it sounds the hours and half-hours on a sonorous bell. Below we have a video of the movement running and striking.
Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some very minor wear to the original gilding. Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
