A Lancashire oak and mahogany crossbanded longcase clock. A flat moulded hood pediment with fretwork and dentil cornice mouldings. Gilded capitals to the hood columns. Trunk side columns and a shaped door top. A brass and silvered dial with rococo corner spandrels and a matted dial centre. A 30 hour duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.
John Bell of Garstang is recorded in Loomes' 'Lancashire Clockmakers' book as working circa 1750 with a longcase clock noted.
