A quite wonderful top-notch desk-top letter or note clip made from cast bronze, with a heavy brass insert to the rear.
The bronze has been modelled in the form as a pair of Cherries and foliage, beautifully executed. The hinge is strong and works well and the heavy weight of Bronze makes it a perfect paperweight too.
The back is lucky enough to have been signed, "Ch Leblanc, Paris". Dating to around 1860 it remains in superb condition, measuring 6 1/4" in length.
