It is hard to find these complete with their original lids, this one is lucky enough to be complete.
Dating to the Victorian era, around 1880, these were originally meant for sugar but they make the most wonderfully decorative bowls for chocolates, candy and nuts .. this one because it has it's lid which is pierced or reticulated, lends itself to being the most perfect Pot Pourri.
The lid has a very welcoming Pineapple finial; once the lid is removed, the original Cranberry glass liner is revealed, in perfect condition.
This stunning and highly decorative piece remains in excellent condition. The bowl spans 7 3/4" handle to handle; the rim of the glass liner measures 4 3/4" in diameter and the piece stands 9" tall to top of finial.
