A really unusual and very special cast brass candelabra mounted with the most wonderful Cockatoo in the middle which acts as a Vesta.
The head is hinged and opens to reveal the chamber where (non-safety) matches are stored and would have been struck on the intricately cast feathers on the back of the bird, the casting beautifully executed. The Cockatoo retains it's original glass eyes and there is a copper hook below is feet for your pocket watch at night or not in use.
A quality and rare piece in excellent condition, having been professionally polished by my silversmith. Excellent condition, the base having a diameter measuring 6 1/4" and standing 8 3/4" tall.
