A fabulous antique English Tea Caddy, dating to the George III era, around 1805.
The flamed Mahogany is cross-banding with Kingwood, framed with fine Boxwood stringing. The top is stunning with a large Conch shell inlaid to the center and fan inlays to each corner.
The front has an Ivory escutcheon, housing the taselled display key, the lock is not working. Once opened the twin lidded compartments are revealed, the lids being fitted with turned Ivory knobs.
A lovely box, in excellent condition. 8 1/4" x 4 3/4" x 4 3/4".
