An authentic Victorian Copper and brass Samovar of nice shape and proportions.
Turned mahogany lid handle and tap handle. Tap works nicely.
Just the usual light battlescars one would associate with a true antique of it's age but very tidy and attractive.
Samovars were usually kept on a sideboard to provide hot water at the dinner table.
Dimensions: 14" tall x 9"dia (main body)
About the Date of Manufacture
This antique was produced in the Victorian period (1837 - 1901). The Victorian era of British history was the period of Queen Victoria's reign from 20 June 1837 until her death, on 22 January 1901. It was a long period of peace, prosperity and national self-confidence for Great Britain. Some scholars date the beginning of the period in terms of sensibilities and political concerns to the passage of the Reform Act 1832.
